Home Tips from one of our Leading Local Interior Designers

Why renovating a Resale flat is more expensive than new BTO flats?

Generally, renovating a Resale flat is more costly due to certain factors.

    1. Bigger floor area (for older generation flats);
    2. The poor existing condition of the resale flat;
    3. Re-wiring / Electrical works need to be done;
    4. Hacking and dismantling work of existing fixtures.

These are repair costs that many homeowners have overlooked in their renovation budget. Repair works are essential that needs to be considered first before focusing on other areas of new works (eg. carpentry).
