The Tampines Nova completion date is not published yet. HDB gave this Plus project an estimated waiting time of 32 months, counted from the median flat-selection month, not from the February 2026 launch. With booking set to start tentatively in July 2026, about March 2029 is the earliest reading of that median (our arithmetic: July 2026 plus 32 months). Your own date sits on MyHDB Page.

Adding 32 months to February 2026 gives October 2028. HDB does not count that way. And for the renovation, the bigger news is how much is already in the flat: floors, internal doors and bathroom fittings come with every unit. Tampines Nova Completion Date: What HDB Actually Says
What HDB published at launch is a waiting time, not a month. Annex A of the February 2026 BTO exercise lists Tampines Nova under "Plus Projects" with an estimated waiting time of 32 months. HDB's earlier Shorter Waiting Time (SWT) announcement puts it in words: 2 years and 8 months for Tampines Nova.
The project's sales brochure promises a wait of less than 3 years. All three agree, and none gives a month.
Once you have booked, the date that matters is your Probable Completion Date. HDB's key collection page says you can see your flat's latest PCD on MyHDB Page, and that the actual completion date can still move with construction progress. Does 32 Months Mean October 2028?
No. Counting 32 months from the February 2026 launch gives October 2028, but HDB's definition does not support that sum. Annex A note 1 defines the figure: it runs from the median month of flat selection for this launch to the median projected completion month of the project's blocks.
So the clock starts at flat selection, not at the launch. Annex B says flat booking for this exercise would tentatively start in July 2026.

The months in this table are our arithmetic from HDB's figures. They are not HDB dates. Two more things to know: the 32 months is a median across both blocks, so one block can finish before the other, and the PCD on MyHDB Page replaces all of this once it appears.
Tampines Nova Units: 255 Flats in Two Blocks
The brochure puts the site where Tampines Concourse meets Tampines Central 8 and Tampines Ave 5. Two blocks, the taller one 14 storeys high, hold 255 two-room Flexi and four-room flats.

Unit numbers and sizes are from HDB's Annex A. The brochure's block table splits them: Block 525A (14 storeys) has 51 Type 2 Flexi flats and 64 four-room flats, and Block 526A (12 and 13 storeys) has 24 Type 1 and 47 Type 2 Flexi flats plus 69 four-room flats.
What a Plus Flat Means for Your Renovation
Tampines Nova is one of two Plus projects in this launch. HDB's launch release sets out the terms: owners stay 10 years before they can sell (the MOP), and on sale they return a percentage to HDB, worked out on the sale price or the valuation, whichever is higher. Its Table 2 sets that share for Tampines Nova at 6%.
For the renovation, that means you are planning a home for at least ten years, not a flip. Spend on what you use every day (kitchen, lighting, storage) and skip trend finishes that will date before the MOP ends.
What Arrives Installed in Your Flat
HDB's price table marks Tampines Nova with "~", and the footnote says that price already covers floor finishes, internal doors and sanitary fittings. The brochure confirms full floor finishes, internal doors and sanitary fittings. Room by room, it lists:

Note the 4-room living and dining floor: the brochure specifies polished porcelain tiles there, with vinyl in the bedrooms only.
Wiring to the lights, power sockets, heater point and aircon points is hidden in the walls, the brochure notes. It also warns that pipes, sanitary stacks and wiring are not shown on the plans. Don't drill on a guess.
Tampines Nova or Tampines Bliss?
Tampines Bliss, from the same launch, is a Standard project with an estimated waiting time of 23 months and 284 three-room and four-room flats (HDB Annex A). Tampines Nova is the Plus project, with 2-room Flexi and 4-room flats, a 32-month wait, a 10-year MOP and a 6% subsidy recovery on resale (HDB launch release).
What a 4-Room Still Needs
Take away what HDB installs and a 4-room Tampines Nova brief is short: kitchen, walls, hot water, lights and aircon. Our 4-room HDB renovation guide for Tampines covers the wider picture.
Kitchen
The 4-room finishes list has wall and floor tiles in the kitchen but no cabinets. That is the biggest single item. Check the length of your kitchen wall on the floor plan before you compare quotes. Our Tampines kitchen renovation cost guide goes through layouts.
Paint and heater
The brochure lists heater points, not a heater. You need a heater bought, installed and connected, and repainting is your call if you want new colours.
Lights and aircon
The wiring is in place, but light fittings and aircon units are yours to buy. Our HDB renovation permit guide covers which jobs need approval.
2-Room Flexi: What Changes
The 122 two-room Flexi flats arrive with vinyl throughout the living area and bedroom, a sliding bedroom partition, tiled wet areas and sanitary fittings. Seniors buying a short-lease Flexi flat can opt in to HDB's Optional Component Scheme (OCS), and the cost is added to the flat price, the brochure says. The scheme's list includes kitchen cabinets with an induction hob, a wardrobe, window grilles, lighting and a water heater.

Can You Change the Bathrooms or Floors?
Bathrooms: not right away. HDB's building works guidelines say: "Newly built flats have a 3-year restriction period in place for the removal of wall and floor finishes in bathrooms and toilets." Read our Tampines toilet renovation guide before planning that work.
Floors elsewhere: the same HDB page says replacing floor finishes needs a permit and the floor finishes and screed together must not exceed 50mm. Laying vinyl, carpet or linoleum needs no permit. With tiles and vinyl already down, there is usually no reason to touch the floors at all.
The household shelter is off limits. The brochure is clear that its walls, ceiling, floor and door must not be hacked, drilled, altered or removed. Our household shelter guide has storage ideas that respect it.

The difference between the Move-In package and the kitchen-only package is S$1,900 (our arithmetic from the two product pages). That buys whole-house paint and a heater installed and connected. If you plan to paint yourself, kitchen-only is the honest choice. You do not need a "bare unit" package with flooring, because HDB has laid the floors. Your Order of Work From Now to Keys
- Now to the Agreement for Lease. HDB's Annex B says the invitation to sign the Agreement for Lease comes within nine months of booking. Collect your floor plan and keep it.
- When a PCD appears on MyHDB Page. Start comparing quotes, not before. A quote two years early is a guess. Our BTO completion date tracker shows how other projects moved.
- Key collection and defects. HDB's defects page gives a 1-year defects liability period from key collection, and asks you to report defects within 1 month of key collection and before renovation begins. Our key collection checklist helps.
- Pick a licensed contractor. HDB's renovation rules page states that the Renovation Control Rules 2006 require you to use only contractors listed in the Directory of Renovation Contractors. RCS holds HDB licence HB-11-5877Z (about RCS).
- Work to the clock. On the same HDB page, for newly completed blocks the approved renovations must be finished within 3 months of the permit date. Work runs 9am to 6pm on weekdays and Saturdays, with noisy work 9am to 5pm on weekdays only; see our HDB working hours guide and the order of works.

Can I renovate the bathrooms when I get my keys?
Not by removing the tiles. HDB places a 3-year restriction on the removal of wall and floor finishes in bathrooms and toilets of newly built flats. The bathrooms already come with tiles, a wash basin, a shower set and a water closet, so there is little you need to change in the first three years.
